CPR, AED and First Aid Classes for the Martial Arts Community
David Burkett and Millie Guzman are healthcare professionals teaching Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CRP), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid classes geared to the Martial Arts community. Classes are held in person or online, with an in person evaluation at the end. We are based in the National Capital Area but classes are also held at various Martial Arts events throughout the US.

ABOUT US
David Burkett is the founder, CEO and co-owner of Black Belts Save Lives. He is a 3rd Degree Blackbelt, Judge and active member of the American Tae Kwon Do Association. David became a certified CPR instructor through the American Red Cross.
David has been a Physical Therapist Assistant for 20 years, attending Northern Virginia Community College, where he earned his Associates degree in the Applied Science and Physical Therapist Assistant program. He served in the US Army with the 5th Infantry Division; his unit helped with the capture of Manuel Noriega in Operation Just Cause (1989).

Millie Guzman

As CFO and co-owner of Black Belts Save Lives, Millie believes helping people in need is a good and essential part of her life, a kind of destiny. Millie started Black Belts Save Lives so she can teach CPR, AED and First Aid to give people the knowledge and confidence they need to perform life-saving skills.
Millie is a Lead Care Manager/Medtech at Sunrise Senior Living of McLean, Virginia. Not being one to sit by and wait for things to happen, Millie makes them happen, all while infusing the teams she leads with an infectious energy and passion that empowers them to think big, set stretch goals, and then pursue those goals with such an intensity and focus that anything but success is unthinkable.

Millie is from the Dominican Republic and went to Catholic University of Santo Domingo, School of Psychology. Millie has over 20 years of experience in administrative positions, business owner and personnel management.
